DJEN BAKX
My name is Djen Bakx. I am 19 years old and I am a professional table tennis player. At the moment, I play Eredivisie at Taverzo in the Netherlands and I live in England to focus completely on table tennis. Table tennis is not just a sport for me, it is my life. I started playing table tennis when I was 8 years old. I have not been able to let go of table tennis since that time.
As a table tennis player, I had the chance to compete in different levels, ranging from local league matches to international tournaments. I learnt something new from every moment behind the table, not just about table tennis, but about perseverance and discipline as well.
In 2023 heb ik mee mogen doen aan de Europese Jeugd Kampioenschappen (EJK) in Polen, waar de meest getalenteerde spelers van Europa hebben gespeeld. Ik bereikte hier uiteindelijk de laatste 128. Deze ervaring heeft mijn begrip van de sport verdiept en heeft mij laten zien wat er nodig is om op topniveau te presteren.
During this same year, I also managed to get to the last 16 at the Dutch National Championships, a performance which I am very proud of and motivated me to share my passion about table tennis with others.
